The Solution to Our OOTD Problems

The Solution to Our OOTD ProblemsA few weeks ago, I was asked by a very well known public figure to write a rant on his First Post-Constitutional State of the Union Address. I immediately understood that it was not so much a rant on the State of the Union speech, but rather an essay on OOTD topics to write and also cite.It is interesting that in every State in America there is a specific problem that makes it unique from every other State in this country. But there is one thing common in all States and that is the fact that all States have excellent legal scholars (representatives) in their legislatures. In most instances the State government tries to outdo each other in offering their elected representatives the most lavish legal education ever offered in the history of the world. But the fact remains that this 'guest' legislature is not just a committee of lawyers offering these great jurists some advice on how to improve their craft of the law. Rather, the delegation is actually co ntrolled by the State governments in which they reside. This delegation has made decisions on what the State Legislature should focus on to address the particular problem. As a result of the 'guest' legislature, we are now blessed with the best and most articulate legal mind of our generation in the chair of the President of the United States of America. Now let us turn our attention to our OOTD topic of writing and take a look at this particular problem. What is the solution to the situation? Well, the answer to this problem is simple; we need to allow all Governors and members of Congress from all political parties to be in on this decision making process. When the executive is in charge of the problem, and we all know that the legislature is controlled by the voters of each State, the Executive and the Legislatures must be allowed to work together as part of the solution. We should welcome the help of State Governors and representatives and give them time in the White House to lead by example. But that's not all; we should engage in strategic thinking as we continue to promote OOTD topics to write essays on. We must also encourage our members of Congress to let each issue come before the State legislatures for consideration. The State's House of Representatives and the State's Senate should consider the issue and address the particular problem in a responsible manner, and then make their decision based on facts and logic. That is the way our republic is supposed to function.
